His Holiness the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa has graciously performed the Empowerment ceremony for the followers at Queens, NY on April 13, 2015.  More than 2000 people gathered at Elite Palace Hall, to get the long empowerment blessings from His Holiness.


Karmapa Service Society had arranged a separate hall in the same place, for those who couldn't get the tickets. But they did get the glimpse of His Holiness when he agreed to visit the hall and consecrated the statues of buddhas kept there. 


The Karmapa was greeted traditonally with tibetan "KIng Gesar's Ling-dro" and  "Lion Dance", which really added colour to the events and for which His Holiness commented and appraised about maintaining the traditions and cultures.



His Holiness mentioned about his happiness in seeing the crowd comprising people from all over the world specially from himalayan regions. His Holiness said, "The people of the Himalayan region have tremendous devotion to the Buddha’s teachings and a special connection with the Vajrayana in particular. Many people of Himalayan origin have gathered together here, including people from the Kingdom of Bhutan, many regions of Nepal and the Himalayan parts of India, and I am very delighted to have this opportunity to meet with all of you. We all have the same fundamental origins and culture and we must work together in harmony. We are all one family." And then he added "I think the point I want to leave you with,”

he said in conclusion, “is that while each and every one of us has our own individual lives and work, we nevertheless each have the innate ability to help transform this world. By doing so our life will become meaningful and fruitful. So please make the best use of your lives, your bodies and your minds.” After which His Holiness left the place.


The ceremony was then concluded and His Holiness' throne was slowly piled up with scrafs offered by the followers.  The members then distributed "trung-nga and tse-ri". And hence, the blessed ceremony ended with great joy and satisfaction.


The 32nd birthday celebration was a grand success where many followers came to be part of it.

Mr. Tsering Tashi, (Office of Tibet, Washington), Kunga Sotop ( Kagyu Chitue),  Rinchen Dharlo (President of The Tibet Fund) and Patrul Rinpoche, were the chief guests during this celebration.

Kenting Chamgon Tai Situpa offered long life empowerment and public talks in New York on 9 October, 2016 at the Elite Palace, Woodside. This event was organised by Karmapa Service Society. Kenting Chamgon Tai Situpa was welcomed traditionally by group of tibetan and bhutanese dance troops. After their performance, Rinpoche begun with the public talk both in tibetan and english elaborating the importance of religion and Buddha's Shakyamuni preaching of the ultimate realization of wisdom. Rinpoche, in course of giving talk added many humorous incidents which imbibed the virtuous of goodness.  After the talk, Chamgon Tai Situpa, offered the long life empowerment and bestowed the blessings individually to all the well wishers and followers. 

Chamgon Tai Situpa appreciated the initiatives of the Karmapa Service Society and urges all the followers to be friendly and helpful to each other so to create a warm society to live in.


Karmapa Service Society on June 19, 2016, celebrated the 31st birthday of His Holiness the Gyalwang Karmapa. 

Mr. Tenzin Ignyen, Community Outreach and Projects Officer, from Office of Tibet, Washington, was the chief guest during this celebration. KTD's Kenpo Tenam and Presidents and secretaries from many associations like TCNYNJ, RTWANYNJ were attended as special guests during the event. Many well wishers gathered to celebrate the joyous birthday of His Holiness and to pray for his long and healthy life. 


His Holiness the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa is turned 30 on 26th of June. And Karmapa Service Society has organised an event on 21st of June to celebrate His Holiness' 30th birthday at the Sunny side community hall in Queens, NY. Many followers comprising of himalayan origins gathered to pay respect and celebrate this 30th birthday in a grand way.



Mr. RInchen Dharlo, President of Tibet fund, was invited as the chief guest for the event. The programme begin with the welcoming of His Holiness Karmapa's portrait followed by prayers for his long life. Then started the cultural programmes with tibetan traditonal snow lion dance.
